Let me tell you a story...
March 18th, 2020
I was lying in my bed and I allowed myself to cry. My dad came inside the house - rushed in - and very, very calm (mysteriously calmly) said, "Carina, there's a fire."
I go outside and, sure enough, there's a wildfire happening right in our backyard. Seems like the world is already on fire and then one happens almost reaching my house.
See, when there is a wildfire right outside of your house, you have to make sure nothing landed on the roof. So, we drenched our house with garden hoses and kept a 6 foot distance (KEPT 6 FOOT DISTANCE) from the fire rescue.
You don't think, so, I walked barefoot. I stepped on embers of poison ivy: burnt - they had landed on our house.
But, our house made it. We noticed the fire. And I am grateful.
GRATEFUL for running water, for close calls, and for having my HEART ON FIRE.
What is one thing you are radically grateful for?
